Welcome! I’m Bethany, known here as the Artful Accumulator—curator, designer, and storyteller behind this vintage boutique. While I may wear glasses, my vision for timeless beauty and unique treasures is sharper than ever. I have a deep affection for floral motifs, which, to me, symbolize life’s constant evolution: growth, change, and the delicate balance of beauty and resilience.
As an artist, I’ve always been captivated by objects with a story to tell—pieces that have lived, witnessed, and carry a sense of history. I have a deep fascination with the significance of the objects we surround ourselves with—these items become the backdrop of our lives, silently present in the moments we cherish.Vintage items speak of times and places beyond our own, and I find joy in curating them for others to appreciate for years to come.
As the Artful Accumulator, I’ve meticulously curated treasures from three regions close to my heart: Montréal, Western Ontario, and rural Ohio. These areas represent different chapters of my life, each contributing to the unique blend of styles you’ll find here. My collections reflect a love for vintage Americana and Canadiana, while still embracing the individuality of the present.
I’m particularly fond of eras like Mid-Century Modern, Victorian, Edwardian, and Art Deco. Objects from these periods were crafted with intention and built to last, something rarely seen in today’s world of planned obsolescence. Though the calendar may say how many years have passed, these pieces still hold the same charm and character as they did when they were once new, connecting the past with the present.
I’m also drawn to a touch of magic, mystery, and a hint of glitz. There’s something enchanting about the unexpected—a shimmering piece of jewelry, a mysterious trinket, or decor that adds a sparkle to daily life. I believe that these elements, though small, can bring joy and a sense of wonder into our everyday surroundings.
My curiosity extends to how people create their homes. I find myself fascinated by the choices we make—why we select certain plates, glasses, or decor to fill our spaces. As an artist, I’ve always admired the transformation of even the most ordinary spaces into personal sanctuaries. What appears identical from the outside can reveal a world of individuality within. And of course, you’ll find quite a few bird motifs here, too! Their magical and delicate presence keeps a watchful eye over my curated vintage collections.
Now, a little about me: I live in vibrant Montréal, Quebec Canada with my husband Tim and our two Chihuahuas—one of whom, much to her delight, is an international supermodel. Before embarking on this vintage venture, I worked as an art professor and then as a custom picture frame designer, experiences that sharpened my eye for detail and my passion for objects that hold meaning.
This boutique is more than a collection of vintage pieces—it’s a space where the past and present intertwine, where each item is waiting to find its next story. I invite you to explore, discover, and perhaps take home a piece that will become part of your own personal narrative.
